Geoprobe 540MT
Geoprobe® 540MT (Dolly Mounted) Limited Access Direct Push Rig: This machine is a step up in power and drilling capability compared to the 420M limited access rig. It was designed to drill deeper and with larger diameter rods but still provides maneuverability to reach hard to access locations. At 35 inches wide, 75 inches tall (folded) and weighing less than 1,000 lbs, the 540MT can be manually rolled and maneuvered to remote drilling locations. It can also be deployed to hard-to-reach and narrow drilling locations. The 540MT is powered by a remote hydraulic power source. Similar to the 420M rig, it is suitable for indoor limited access work because it is zero indoor emissions owing to the external powerpack and hydraulic hoses up to 200 feet in length. It is delivered to the site on a small trailer.
This limited access direct push rig can perform soil, groundwater, and soil gas sampling using 36 inch or 48 inch long drilling rods. This machine can run single rod or dual tube drilling rod configurations. Discrete or continuous core soil samples can be obtained. Groundwater samples can be collected from an open bore hole, using pre-packed wells screen, temporary slotted well screen, or temporary wells using a peristaltic pump, check valves and tubing, and mini-bailers.
Soil gas samples can be obtained by installing permanent or semi-permanent soil gas wells with one sample interval and depth per bore hole or multiple sample intervals and depths per bore hole (nested wells or multi-depth wells).
